Check SF Sonic Car Battery Types, Capacity & Warranty

Just as there are no one kind of cars, there is no one kind of batteries. Today, this field has seen enough technological advances to offer a range of benefits as befits the cars. The electronic age has thrown up another great advantage; the batteries can easily be bought online. Just choose the battery needed for your car, check the price, choose the warranty period that’s most expansive and buy.

Before you do that, take a look at some of the car batteries available in the market.

Different types of automotive batteries
  1. Wet or flooded battery: Most popular for being less expensive. Here, freely suspended plates with the positive and the negative charges are separated in different bags. They are fully sealed batteries so remain absolutely maintenance free! Do not require gas /fluid topping ups or replacement.
  2. Calcium-Calcium batteries: These fairly long lasting batteries can be bought at very low prices. These batteries contain a calcium alloy on the side of the negative and positive charged plates. This is mainly to reduce the fluid loss during transmission.
  3. Valve Regulated Lead Batteries: The pressurized valves in the batteries compress the gas into forming water so there is absolutely no need to replace water in this kind of battery. These batteries are of 2 types:
    • Absorbed glass mats. The mats keeps internal resistance at a minimum and so are able to generate more power per crank.
    • AGM or Gel formula: Silicon is used to make the lead acid become a gel like substance. This makes the battery last longer but is not necessarily good to generate more power when needed.
  4. Deep cycle batteries: These batteries are ideal for smaller vehicles like golf carts, electric cars and small boats that run short distances and don’t require quick power surges. Thicker plates enable these batteries to last long. Their high discharge rate makes them good for small but frequently used vehicles.
  5. Lithium Ion batteries: Very expensive but with some great advantages. They’re not heavy and so they’re perfect for vehicles that offer fuel efficiency. Ideal for electric cars and dual fuel cars and energy saving vehicles.

SF Sonic’s Flash Start advantages: The rugged, power supremo!
The SF Sonic offers more power per crank with a few smart changes in the components:

The calcium-silver alloy which increases resistance power and reduces over charging enabling the battery to start, whatever the weather, in seconds!

Corrosion resistant calcium-calcium grid that enables the battery deliver more power for every crank, be resistant to heat and weather changes and to vibrations in the form of bad rod or bumpy roads.
Now, take an informed decision when you want to buy new car batteries or want to just replace your old batteries with more advanced ones.

Tips/Tricks for Truck Battery Maintenance:

Compared to car batteries, truck batteries are much more powerful and can stand much more load. These heavy batteries are designed with long and rough rides in mind while providing the maximum power output as possible.

Here are are few tips for truck battery maintenance:

  • Make sure that the surface of the battery is clean. Dirty or wet batteries usually end up discharging power, reducing the life and power output of it.
  • Discharge can also be caused by dirty battery terminals, loose connections or any sort of physical damage to the battery.
  • Apply some grease or petroleum jelly to the terminals to avoid rusting and corrosion. They reduce the overall battery performance and life.
  • Make sure all electrolyte levels are at maximum. Never refill the battery with normal or tap water. Always use only distilled water to top up the battery.
  • Any physical damages after a long drive indicate overheating or overcharging. Constantly keep a check on it.
  • Test the battery once in 2 months with a hydrometer or a voltmeter to keep track of its performance.

How to Choose the Right Inverter Battery?

Choose best inverter battery your home & business

Start with the list of appliances that you want to run on an inverter and their wattage. Check the list below to get some standard values used for calculations:

1 Fan – Fans Consume 75-90 Watts. For calculation we can take 90 watts.
1 tube light – Assume 45-50 watts for standard tube lights. 28 watts for T5 tube lights.
1 CFL – 25 watts (default) or take the actual number if known.
1 Television – LED TVs take 30-100 watts depending on size. LCD TVs consume 50-150 watts. CRT takes about 120 watts.

Suppose you want 1 Fan, 1 Tube light, 1 CFL & 1 CRT television to operate at the time of power failure, i.e. running on inverter, the total power requirement comes out to be (1*90 + 1*50 + 1*25 + 1*120) = 285 watts. 285 watts here is the total load.

If you want a backup of 6 hours, then you need to store 285 x 6 = 1710 Watt-hour or 1.71 kilo watt hour (or units) of electricity. This is the storage that you need.

Need a battery replacement for your bike? Are you tired of always choosing the wrong one? Here are a few tips on how to choose the right battery for your two-wheeled wonder.

First of all: Car batteries and bike batteries are very similar in nature as they function to power the engine in order to start and run the vehicle with no delay. A two wheeler battery is much smaller and much lesser in weight when compared to a car battery, but at the same time, it requires the same amount of maintenance that a car battery requires. As soon as the battery starts giving out, understand the signals, take immediate action and replace the battery as soon as possible.

SF Sonic has a great range of two-wheeler batteries to choose from, each created to suit every walk of life. Be it off-roading or city driving to highway trips, SF Sonic batteries give you the confidence you need to tackle the road. Not only are they reliable, they are also available for online purchase, bringing a sense of convenience to the customer!

While buying a new two-wheeler battery, keep in mind these important tips to get the perfect fit for your bike.

1. Check the current battery:

To get the perfect fitting battery for your bike all you need to do is analyze your current battery; all it’s details will be listed in the battery owner’s manual.

2. Choose the best performance battery

Now with more knowledge of what model battery is currently used on your bike, you can now go around and choose the same battery or a better one that lasts longer and gives you more power per crank

3. Tips to remember while choosing an alternate battery

To make sure that the battery is maintenance free, always purchase a sealed version of it. Such batteries will never need to be refilled or have regular fluid checks. Always choose a bike battery from the best of brands in the market, such as SF Sonic, Exide etc. These batteries have much longer shelf life and last in almost all sorts of weather conditions.
